Position: Recruitment Specialist
Position Purpose:
The Recruitment Specialist is responsible for candidate recruitment, proactively sourcing and attracting potential applicants to PEOPLEsource and keeping the PEOPLEsource name at the forefront of the “recruiting market.” The primary goal of this job function is to ensure the database remains populated with approximately skilled individuals in keeping with the staffing requirements of clients. Recruitment Specialists assume a primary responsibility for the overall management of the candidate inventory system, ensuring through communication with other team members, that the best interests of our candidates and clients are served through the matching process.
Servicing:
Works closely with the Placement Personnel to manage and maintain a database of candidates for current, potential and future job requirements. Recruitment will entail candidate pre-screening, interviewing, testing, reference checking and generation of ads to attract these individuals.
Client Development:
Increase sales within existing client base through proactive activities such as job fairs, co-ordinating and placing advertisements, contacting potential staffing users and on going facility tours to gain a comprehensive understanding of client requirements and timelines and by delivering an exceptional level of customer service.
Mandatory:
- Minimum six months experience in a recruiting or customer service environment with a proven ability to function under pressure.
- Strong sense of pace and urgency.
- Experience in updating and maintaining records.
- Minimum high school graduate equivalency.
- Experience in interviewing within staffing industry considered an asset.
- Telemarketing experience considered an asset.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and manage an automated database of qualified candidates to ensure that PEOPLEsource provides the highest quality candidates and timely service to specific clients.
- Identify inventory requirements by accessing the type of business of the client base, skill requirements of past orders, potential orders and information regarding clients future plans or projects requiring temporary and/or permanent staffing assistance.
- Develop and maintain recruiting resources to fulfill inventory requirements and co-ordinate external recruitment activities such as school recruiting session, job fairs, etc.
- Pre-screen, interview and test all qualified applicants in accordance with PEOPLEsource standards and in compliance with Human Rights and other applicable Government Legislation.
- Input candidate information into computer and update as appropriate.
- Perform reference checks to verify candidate’s experience and employment history.
- Ensuring all employee files are complete and in compliance with quality initiatives.
- Visit client and prospect premises to conduct Facility Tours to ensure understanding of environment and staffing nuances.
- Ensure that all members of the team are immediately aware of candidates with exceptional skills that should be skill marketed.
- Co-ordinate all newspaper advertising utilizing appropriate channels and guidelines. Tracking and provision of statistical report regarding response rate.
- Obtain sales leads through interview process, resumes review etc. and forward to attention of the Sales Representative for follow up.
- Respond to candidate and field staff inquiries and/or problems immediately or refer to placement personnel as appropriate for necessary follow-up and action.
- Recruiters are expected to be flexible and help out in other areas as needed.
